We offer both types of synthetic putting greens. Many of our competitors only offer one or the other and will push that one. We let you choose which is best for you. How do you decide which one? The choice is fairly simple:
For the smoothest putting and chipping surface, virtually no maintenance and a uniform color and texture (which will look artificial but nice), Nylon is for you. If you select a thicker nylon, called “loose fill,” which will hold a limited amount of sand infill, then the nylon will also hold short pitch shots –e.g. 25 yds - and longer pitches, if you don’t mind an increasingly unrealistic first bounce or two.
For those of you who want to hit approach shots with true green shot acceptance and want a natural green appearance, and a more time-tested green, then SofTrak in-fill is for you. We offer maintenance service for either type of green, or you can do it yourself, but be aware that the SofTrak does need brushing cleaning and the replacement of the top dressing every year or two, or sooner, depending on use and your environment.
